Honu Koa Bookmark

Regular price $15.00

The "Honu" is the Hawaiian word for sea turtle, specifically the Hawaiian green sea turtle.  This design is a petroglyph etching borrowed from the ancient shoreline works in the Ka`u district on the Big Island of Hawai`i.  The wood is solid koa, collected from fallen trees on the slopes of Mauna Kea.  The wooden beads are hand-painted and depict a voyaging canoe or honu.
